Gareth is the owner operator of Ultraflex. He is a Registered Electrical Inspector with a 16 year demonstrated history and broad range of experience in the Electrical Industry. He is Skilled in Electrical Troubleshooting, Product Knowledge, Electrical Safety, Air Conditioning, Solar Power Systems, LED Lighting and Energy Efficient Solutions. He is a strong operations professional that thrives on challenges. Gareth soared through the industry always taking his career to new heights and challenging the status quo. With his strong background in all aspects of electrical work aims to provide quality service and excellent craftsmanship to every solution he provides. Gareth is the current Vice President for the Waikato BOP Master Electricians Association & is enjoying being a part of local business in Tauranga.
Our History
Ultraflex Electrical has evolved in response to the dynamic and ever-changing electrical industry. The journey began in 2010 when Gareth’s dad, Brian Wilkin, started Wilkin Systems, a hobby business focused on electronic repairs, radio communications, and test tagging.
In 2017, Gareth, Brian, and Super Mum Camilla decided to expand their horizons by forming Ultraflex Technologies LTD. Their goal was to explore various offerings in the electrical and technology sectors. Gareth went full-time as an electrician and electrical inspector, providing mobile services throughout the Bay of Plenty, while Brian managed electronic repairs and maintenance from the workshop.
As demand grew, the team expanded with the addition of adult apprentice Chris Thompson, who excelled in apprentice competitions and proved highly skilled in the field. By 2021, the RV and electrical warrant services for caravans were booming, leading to the creation of a sub-brand, RV Electrics, to cater specifically to this market.
In mid-2023, the decision was made to separate family and business, resulting in Gareth taking full ownership of the company. This led to a rebranding to Ultraflex Electrical, allowing Gareth to refocus on delivering top-notch electrical solutions for homes and businesses.
At the start of 2024, Chris decided to move to Australia with his family to continue his apprenticeship. Today, Ultraflex Electrical remains committed to providing exceptional electrical services, adapting to market changes, and meeting the needs of our valued customers.
