Founded and led by Gareth, a qualified electrician and registered electrical inspector, our business is built on precision, care, and high standards of workmanship on every project we take on.
Behind the scenes, Gareth’s wife Monique manages the accounts, payroll, and financial side of the business, keeping things running smoothly so the team can focus on the tools.
Since 2017, Ultraflex Electrical has grown from a one-man operation into a trusted local team serving Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, Papamoa and Te Puke. As we’ve grown, our focus hasn’t changed — personalised, high-quality electrical work, delivered by appointment so every job gets the time and attention it deserves.

Gareth Wilkin
Director - Electrical Inspector
Gareth is the owner operator of Ultraflex. He is a Registered Electrical Inspector with a 17 year demonstrated history and broad range of experience in the Electrical Industry. He is Skilled in Electrical Troubleshooting, Product Knowledge, Electrical Safety, Air Conditioning, Solar Power Systems, LED Lighting and Energy Efficient Solutions. He is a strong operations professional that thrives on challenges. Gareth soared through the industry always taking his career to new heights and challenging the status quo. With his strong background in all aspects of electrical work aims to provide quality service and excellent craftsmanship to every solution he provides. Gareth is the current President for the Waikato BOP Master Electricians Association & is enjoying being a part of local business in Tauranga.
Shane Colton
Qualified Electrician
Shane became a qualified electrician in September 2024 and recently relocated to Tauranga from the Wairarapa in early 2025 for a fresh start. With a strong background in residential electrical work and experience across a variety of projects, he enjoys all aspects of the trade. Shane is passionate about providing excellent service, ensuring customers are happy with the results. He’s excited to continue learning and growing his skills and is grateful to be part of the Ultraflex team on this journey.
Leigh Rackham
Admin & Marketing
Originally from Whakatāne, Leigh has recently made the move to Tauranga with her husband and two children. She’s thrilled to be settling into the area and joining the Ultraflex team. Bringing with her a passion for organisation, creativity, and connection.
She takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and ensuring every project is completed to the highest standard. Outside of work Leigh enjoys spending time with family, discovering new walks around the Tauranga area & spending days at the beach.
