3 levels of Periodic Verification COV come under AS/NZS3019.
Section 3: Verification by basic visual inspection
Section 3 is a basic visual check of your home or business. This confirms your home or business is in good electrical condition. This inspection does not include any electrical tests.
Section 4: Verification by visual inspection and limited testing
Section 4 is a visual inspection and limited testing of your home or business.
This level of testing is designed not interrupt any day to day running.
Section 5: Verification by visual inspection and full testing
Section 5 is a visual inspection and full testing is done of the home or business.
This level of testing could interrupt day to day running and is only recommended if necessary.
All tests are completed by a registered Electrical Inspector
Some of the COV tests include:
- Main Earth Tests
- Earth Bonding
- Polarity and correct connections
- Earth Loop Tests
- RCD Tests
What section is best for you?
This product covers a Section 4 inspection, paperwork (COV), local travel (20km radius from Bayfair) and a minimum hour charge. If other levels of inspection are required or more time on site is required subsequent hours are charged at $95 + GST. This will be dependent on the size of the property however most homes will fit into this category.
